Are we all affected by change?
Many think that change only happens to ‘other’ people and, even then, it is something infrequent.
My opinion is that this isn’t true as change is something that we experience very often in our lives. It is not the event itself that is important but rather how we respond as a result. Imagine walking in a field on a sunny day with blue skies and the birds singing. See yourself walking along the path humming your favourite tune. Look down at the path and, suddenly, you are about to put your foot into a puddle of water! Not a big issue, but who wants to get their shoes wet, their clothes muddy and possible slip and fall!
You are being faced with the necessity to make a change. So many decisions and so little time to decide. You can confront and carry on walking or else you can avoid. Will it affect the rest of the walk? Will you start being more careful where you put your feet?
This is the story of life. Things are often smooth and calm and yet can sometimes be minutes away from big changes.
I recently made a huge change and moved from one country to another. This was probably the biggest change I’d ever faced and the actual move was really not as bad as I’d thought.
It’s what happened afterwards and continues to happen that I’d like to think about and explore. Join me in the journey!
